I have a sinking feeling in my chest as I think about the new year. Idk if it is inspired by the algorithm on my Tik Tok fyp, but everyone just seems to have been so drained by this past year? I can’t put my finger on what it is? Maybe I need a sunset lamp from Temu to lift my mood.

There’s so much news about the climate and where we are headed; I’ll be honest, I’ve been deep in that stuff lately. Have we ruined the planet beyond repair? Gosh. Just call me Debbie downer at this point!

BUT!

As we enter the New Year, it’s the perfect opportunity to explore sustainable resolutions that align with innovation and environmental responsibility. Fortunately, I am right where I need to be! Solar energy is a leading solution for reducing carbon footprints and achieving energy independence. In the UK, the adoption of solar technology is steadily growing, making it easier for households and businesses to transition to renewable energy. We want to offer practical and accessible solar products, enabling everyone to both save money and join the clean energy revolution.

The Growth of Solar Energy in the UK

The UK has made significant strides in solar energy adoption. As of 2024, there are over 1.5 million solar photovoltaic (PV) installations across the country, contributing to more than 14 GW of solar capacity. Solar energy accounted for approximately 4% of the UK’s total electricity generation, a number expected to rise with increased investment in renewable technologies. The government’s target of reaching 70 GW of solar capacity by 2035 underscores the nation’s commitment to decarbonisation.

Portable Solar and Battery Powered Solutions for Everyday Life

All the statistics above may seem a bit techy, so I’d like to simplify it a little and let you know how you can have your energy needs catered to in a practical way. Both individuals and businesses can make eco-conscious choices.

If you’re a UK resident looking for a compact and efficient way to power your devices during a quick January camping trip or even for backup, I’d say go with the Jackery Explorer 240 v2 Portable Power Station. Its reliable 240 Wh capacity will make sure your essentials remain charged.

The Jackery SolarSaga 200W Solar Panel is perfect for capturing the UK’s sunlight, even during these dreary months. It works seamlessly with power stations to recharge your phone.

One of our latest additions; The Savior Heat SHF01B Battery Heated Head Face Neck Mask is a super innovative solution for staying warm during cold weather. It’s designed for outdoor enthusiasts, commuters, and anyone braving the elements, which I think is literally all of us for the next few months.

The Financial and Environmental Benefits

  • Energy Savings: The average UK household could save up to £400 annually by switching to solar energy. With the falling cost of solar panels and the Smart Export Guarantee (SEG), homeowners can also earn money by exporting excess electricity to the grid.

  • Carbon Footprint Reduction: By installing solar panels, a typical UK household can save approximately 1.3 to 1.6 tonnes of CO₂ per year, contributing significantly to the fight against climate change.

A Resolution for a Sustainable Future

Some people are doing vision boards, bingo cards and if you’re an OG, you will probably do a list of resolutions. If you do any of these, think about adopting solar technology to reduce energy costs and support the UK’s transition to renewable energy.

Living life under 2 kWh per person per day is within reach! Our innovative products make it easier than ever to embrace clean, renewable energy.

As for me, I just ordered the Savior Heat SW04 Unisex Black Heated & Ultra Thin Glove Liners. While I may need to dig deep for the motivation to set resolutions this year, at least I’ll be warm and toasty while doing it.
