Last week I told you my landlord said he was going to raise my rent because of the Ofgem energy price cap. I feel like the cap is rising literally every 2 seconds. I just can’t keep up. Most of your conversation with me has been in prose but what if you could watch it live??

You can.

Energy use in the UK has become more of a hot topic than ever before, especially as the price cap rises again on the 1st of April. With energy bills continuing to climb, people across the country are feeling the pinch and looking for ways to cut back on their consumption. That’s where “Power House” comes in—bringing energy conservation into your life in a fun, relatable way.

Our show is set in a house with real people, living their everyday lives while tackling the challenge of reducing their energy usage. And just like everyone else in the UK, these participants are feeling the heat of rising energy costs. With the price cap increase on April 1st, households are facing even higher bills, and the pressure is on to find smarter ways to manage energy consumption.

So, here’s the big question:

Can they live under 2 kWh per person per day? That’s the challenge our contestants face throughout the show. The participants must use energy just like they normally would. Whether it’s cooking, using lights, or running appliances, but with the goal of cutting down to 2 kWh per person per day. It’s a tough challenge, but one that’s absolutely necessary if we want to make real strides in reducing our collective carbon footprint and lowering energy costs.

And just like life in the UK, things are rarely straightforward.

Our contestants live under the same roof, dealing with the ups and downs of energy-saving efforts. Some get along, some don’t, but in the end, only one can be crowned the winner. Who can stick to their energy-saving strategies and prove they have what it takes to be the most energy-conscious person in the house?

As we watch these contestants navigate their energy consumption, we’re also giving you practical tips and insights that you can apply in your own life. Saving energy doesn’t have to be difficult—it just takes awareness, small adjustments, and a little creativity.

Join us on this exciting journey, and learn how you can make a difference without sacrificing comfort… okay maybe a little sacrifice hehe.
