What’s smarter than your smart meter?

Ofgem has recently proposed new standards for smart meters, aiming to improve their reliability and functionality.

These smart meters play a crucial role in helping households monitor and reduce energy usage, but concerns have been raised about their accuracy and connectivity issues. Energy UK has responded to these proposals, emphasising the need for higher standards to ensure customers fully benefit from smart technology.

Why does any of this matter??

Smart meters are designed to give real-time energy readings, allowing customers to track their usage and make informed decisions about saving energy. BUT, if the meters are unreliable, they can lead to incorrect billing, loss of data, and frustration for consumers.
